Most of president Silanyo’s ministers act like Joseph Goebbels (Adolf Hitler’s propaganda ministers)

The most important assignment for any official appointed by president is praise him and engage an intensive propaganda campaign to beauty the image of the president and his government even if the issue advocated by the minster is totally unrepresentative. Today, August 14, 2014, the presidential office organized an event in the honor for Somali-land Diasporas overseas. However, all the speakers shared one aspect and that is criticizing their political challengers without mentioning any valid point which is be trusted by the public. The speakers did not know the real definition of criticism. Criticism is an act of passing judgment as to the merits of anything, the act of passing severe judgment; censure; faultfinding, the act of of analyzing and evaluating or judging a quality of work, performance, deeds etc. Criticism can be constructive or destructive. The aim of constructive criticism is to see a change for the better the issue criticized, but when someone criticizes another person but cannot pinpoint what is actually wrong; this can be considered unhelpful and negative. The intention of constructive criticism is not to build up but to pull down. Critics can sometimes be ruthless in passing unfavorable judgment on the qualities, character or work of a person. Many times they are insensitive to the demoralizing effects of their words on the person criticized.Criticism can be justified when one has done something wrong or behaved badly. But it is unjustified when someone merely picks on another person for no evidence, or out of personal pique. Below are basic guidelines to adapt at the time of criticizing for an issue or deeds. It should be to point out a fault without destroying a person’s self esteem.. A generous critic will bring out the best in the person criticized. Destructive Criticism is Unjustifiable and unfruitful.Sometimes certain people derive pleasure from criticizing others. It may be due to jealousy of someone in a better position vis-à-vis education, wealth, power or influence. The critic may not have a clue about the problem or may have his own blinkered view of it. Many things may not be acceptable to him because of his lack of knowledge. Wiseman is the man who takes down bricks thrown at him and builds a strong foundation. Have a positive self image. Never let criticism rile you or put you on the defensive. Use discernment in how you handle criticism. Accept the challenge. Look for the reason why you are criticized. Have a positive attitude to someone who offers constructive criticism. Considering the manner in which the government officials behaved while speaking in the event, it was like false propaganda campaigning.

False propaganda is the presentation of misleading information influencing an audience towards a particular cause. Black propaganda is false information and material that purports to be from a source on one side of a conflict, but is actually from the opposing side. It is typically used to vilify, embarrass or misrepresent the enemy. Black propaganda contrasts with grey propaganda the source of which is not identified, and white propaganda, in which the real source is declared and usually more accurate information is given, albeit slanted, distorted and omissive. Black propaganda is covert in nature in that its aims, identity, significance, and sources are hidden.Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behaviour to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist More comprehensive is the description by Richard Alan Nelson: “Propaganda is neutrally defined as a systematic form of purposeful persuasion that attempts to influence the emotions, attitudes, opinions, and actions of specified target audiences for ideology political or commercial purposes through the controlled transmission of one-sided messages (which may or may not be factual) via mass and direct media channels. A propaganda organization employs propagandists who engage in propagandism-the applied creation and distribution of such forms of persuasion.” Both definitions focus on the communicative process involved – or more precisely, on the purpose of the process, and allow “propaganda” to be considered objectively and then interpreted as positive or negative behaviour depending on the perspective of the viewer or listener. Propaganda is generally an appeal to emotion, not intellect. It shares techniques with adverting and public relations, each of which can be thought of as propaganda that promotes a commercial product or shapes the perception of an organization, person, or brand. In post-World War II usage the word “propaganda” more typically refers to political or nationalist uses of these techniques or to the promotion of a set of ideas, since the term had gained a pejorative meaning. The refusal phenomenon was eventually to be seen in politics itself by the substitution of “political marketing” and other designations for “political propaganda.

The major characteristic of black propaganda is that the people are not aware that someone is influencing them, and do not feel that they are being pushed in a certain direction.] Black propaganda purports to emanate from a source other than the true source. This type of propaganda is associated with cover psychological. Sometimes the source is concealed or credited to a false authority and spreads lies, fabrications, and deceptions. Black propaganda is the “big lie”, including all types of creative deceit. Black propaganda relies on the willingness of the receiver to accept the credibility of the source. If the creators or senders of the black propaganda message do not adequately understand their intended audience, the message may be misunderstood, seem suspicious, or fail altogether.Governments will generally conduct black propaganda operations for two different reasons] First, by disguising their direct involvement a government may be more likely to succeed in convincing an otherwise unbelieving target audience. Second, there are diplomatic reasons behind the use of black propaganda. Black propaganda is necessary to obfuscate a government’s involvement in activities that may be detrimental to its foreign policies.

The following quotes said by Adolf Hitler during the Nazi time. Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way round, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise. It also gives us a very special, secret pleasure to see how unaware the people around us are of what is really happening to them. Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it. What luck for the rulers that men do not think? Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way round, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise. The greatness of every mighty organization embodying an idea in this world lies in the religious fanaticism and intolerance with which, fanatically convinced of its own right, it intolerantly imposes its will against all others– The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of the nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for them themselves often tell little lies but would be ashamed to tell a big one and the following quotes said by Joseph Goebbels, Nazi propaganda minister.”The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion. Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.– If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. Hermann Goering said that education is dangerous – Every educated person is a future enemy.

Most of presidents Silanyo ministers act like Joseph Goebbels Adolf Hitler’s propaganda ministers responsible insert an intensive propaganda campaign to influence public opinion.German Nazi Party member Joseph Goebbels became Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister in 1933, which gave him power over all German radio, press, cinema, and theatre. In 1925 Goebbels met the party leader Adolf Hitler. In 1926 he was made party leader, for the region of Berlin, and in 1927 he founded and became editor of the official National Socialist. He was elected to the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1928. By exploiting mob emotions and by employing all modern methods of propaganda Goebbels helped Hitler into power. His work as a propagandist materially aided Hitler’s rise to power in 1933. When Hitler seized power in 1933, Goebbels was appointed Reichsminister for propaganda and national enlightenment. From then until his death, Goebbels used all media of education and communications to further Nazi propagandistic aims, instilling in the Germans the concept of their leader as a veritable god and of their destiny as the rulers of the world. In 1938 he became a member of the Hitler cabinet council. Late in World War II, in 1944, Hitler placed him in charge of total mobilization. As Reichsminister for Propaganda and National Enlightenment, Goebbels was given complete control over radio, press, cinema, and theatre; later he also regimented all German culture. Goebbels placed his undeniable intelligence and his brilliant insight into mass psychology entirely at the service of his party. His most virulent propaganda was against the Jews. As a hypnotic orator he was second only to Hitler, and in his staging of mass meetings and parades he was unsurpassed. Utterly cynical, he seems to have believed only in the self-justification of power. He remained loyal to Hitler until the end. On May 1, 1945, as Soviet troops were storming Berlin, Goebbels committed suicide.

Following are Goebbels’s principles of propaganda. Propagandist must have access to intelligence concerning events and public opinion. Propaganda must be planned and executed by only one authority. It must issue all the propaganda directives. It must explain propaganda directives to important officials and maintain their morale. It must oversee other agencies activities which have propaganda consequences. The propaganda consequences of an action must be considered in planning that action. Propaganda must affect the enemy’s policy and action. By suppressing propagandistically desirable material which can provide the enemy with useful intelligence. By openly disseminating propaganda whose content or tone causes the enemy to draw the desired conclusions. By goading the enemy into revealing vital information about him. By making no reference to a desired enemy activity when any reference would discredit that activity Declassified, operational information must be available to implement a propaganda campaign. To be perceived, propaganda must evoke the interest of an audience and must be transmitted through an attention-getting communications medium. Credibility alone must determine whether propaganda output should be true or false. The purpose, content and effectiveness of enemy propaganda; the strength and effects of an expose; and the nature of current propaganda campaigns determine whether enemy propaganda should be ignored or refuted.. Credibility, intelligence, and the possible effects of communicating determine whether propaganda materials should be censored. Material from enemy propaganda may be utilized in operations when it helps diminish that enemy’s prestige or lends support to the propagandist’s own objective. Black rather than white propaganda may be employed when the latter is less credible or produces undesirable effects. Propaganda may be facilitated by leaders with prestige. Propaganda must be carefully timed. a. The communication must reach the audience ahead of competing propaganda. A propaganda campaign must begin at the optimum moment. A propaganda theme must be repeated, but not beyond some point of diminishing effectiveness. Propaganda must label events and people with distinct. In conclusion, I will not compare them lik Goebbelse, Adolf Hitler’s propaganda ministers however, their behavior is as considered as propagandists.
